This past weekend a new gallery opened its doors in SE – Honfleur Gallery. I’ve heard that the area is experiencing a lot of renovation as the NAACP national headquarters will be moving in. The Post ran a story on whether or not the neighborhood would/could benifit from an art gallery. From what I’ve read ARCH has been working with the Gallery and the first show for its soft opening was curated by a local artist.
The exhibit entitled No Scratchers is a collection highlighting the area’s tattoo artists. The grand opening will be in February and will highlight artists East of the Anacostia. I hope to get out there someday soon and see both the exhibits.
